Withstands earthquakes of magnitude 7 (Japanese scale)

  1. Amazing tolerance for stress, bending, and shaking. Protect cities, towns, and houses from the secondary effects of earthquake disasters.

    Damage to cities and buildings was enormous during the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake (magnitude 7.3) and the Great East Japan Earthquake (magnitude 9.0), and restoration is still underway.     Also, use of O.N. Fittings provided protection from secondary damage, such as loss of materials and data due to flooding from broken water pipes in buildings that did not collapse.

  2. Unique structure proved in seismic tests

    O.N. Fitting has undergone seismic testing by the Hyogo Earthquake Engineering Research Center, Disaster Science Technology Research Center (Independent Administrative Institute), and Earthquake Resistance Experiment Facility. A comparison was conducted with conventional steel pipe fittings at the Earthquake Resistance Experiment Center in Aichi Institute of Technology.

    When an acceleration of 2000 gal (exceeding the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake) was applied for 30 seconds, the conventional steel pipe fittings broke at the threaded joints and were completely destroyed. In contrast, it was verified that pipes with O.N. Fitting remained intact and were not affected by severe deformation.

    • The joining-type expanded pipe O.N. Fitting should be tightened sequentially on the diagonal, and tightened firmly until the flange surface is in close contact.

  3. The secret is the unique expanded pipe structure and expanding the end of the pipe that has stronger resistance with the cap nut

    to a convex shape by using the special expansion device, after which inserting the fitting and tightening the cap nut compresses the rubber packing and creates a seal that prevents leaks. Also, the rubber packing and the convex shape prevent the pipe from slipping and dropping off, allowing strong shaking, pulling, and bending forces to be withstood.

  4. Highly reliable ultrapure water piping

    O.N. Fittings with highly durable rubber packing and high reliability are used in piping for washing in processes such as manufacturing liquid crystal displays, and are used in the ultrapure water piping for cell culture and manufacturing of recombinant DNA products in the biotechnology field.

  5. Provides high temperature water in hospitals, hotels, and factories

    In various buildings like hospitals and hotels, hot water is supplied at temperatures exceeding 80°C to increase the sterilization effect. When carbon steel piping deteriorates with age, high temperature water may leak from the fittings and rusting may occur. However, there is no leakage or rusting of O.N. Fitting, even if high temperature steam (150°C) is piped for 14 years.
